How to Apply for a Driving Licence in India

Online Mode:

  1. Visit parivahan.gov.in.
  2. Select the “Online Services” tab and click “Driving Licence Related Services.”
  3. Choose your state.
  4. Click “Apply for Driving Licence.”
  5. Complete the applicant details.
  6. Upload scanned copies of required documents.
  7. Pay the application fee.
  8. Optionally, book a slot for a driving test.
  9. Appear for the test as scheduled. The driving licence will be delivered upon passing.

Offline Mode:

  1. Download the form from the state transport official website or visit the nearest RTO to obtain Form 4.
  2. Fill out the application form and submit it with age and address proof at the nearest RTO.
  3. Pay the application fee.
  4. Optionally, book a slot for the driving test.
  5. Take the test at the RTO office. The driving licence will be issued upon passing.
